Voor het nieuwe radioseizoen 2009-2010 zoekt netwaves medewerkers. Netwaves & netwaves.bpm zijn beide radioprogramma's op Radio Scorpio op woensdagavond. Netwaves is de specialist op het gebied van internetmuziek. Al 4 jaar lang scant netwaves het internet af op zoek naar mp3 delikatessen, volledig in copyleft stijl. Copyleft betekent vrije muziek zonder Sabam. Netwaves.bpm zendt ook iedere woensdag live uit vanuit café Apero.

Kan je zelfstandig werken?
Ben je creatief en flexibel?
Heb je een goede kennis van Nederlands en Engels?
Luister je graag naar muziek?
Babbel je graag over muziek?
Ben je geinteresseerd in Creative Commons?
Zin om radio ervaring op te doen?

Wat doet een netwaver?
- redactie: research (artiesten en netlabel), interviews voorbereiden, interviewen, mensen contacteren, eindredactie (een uitzending samenstellen en voorbereiden)
- muziekredactie: het internet scannen naar muziek, compilaties samenstellen
- studio: achter de knoppen zitten, presentatie, deejayen
- op locatie: deejays, streaming audio opzetten (Netwaves deejays doen iedere woensdag hun ding in café Apero en dat wordt live op Scorpio uitgezonden)
- promotie: promo maken op internet en 'real life'
- internet: updaten website en social sites, bloggen
- netwaves specialisatie: Sabam watchen, bloggen over muziek en/of auteursrecht, meegaan naar het netaudio festival in London 2010, subsidies aanvragen, concerten organiseren
- Scorpio: vergaderingen, promotie, activiteiten organiseren

De takenlijst van netwaves is uitgebreid, maar je kan kiezen wat je graag wil doen. Je hebt geen ervaring nodig. Ervaring is net wat je opbouwt bij Radio Scorpio. Al doende leer je. En fouten mogen gemaakt worden.

Radio Scorpio is een alternatieve en vrije Leuvense radiozender te beluisteren via 106.0 FM. Opgericht in 1979 onder de naam SCORPIO of languit 'Socio-Culturele Organisatie voor Regionale Pluralistische Informatie-Overdracht'. Scorpio brengt al dertig jaar eigenzinnige en pure radio, zonder reclame en met een fijne muziekselectie. Geen format radio op Radio Scorpio. Maar wel enthousiaste creatievelingen die het radio vak al doende kunnen leren en al experimenterend hun eigen stijl vinden.
Overdag zendt het station non-stop alternatieve muziek uit. In de vooravond biedt Scorpio nieuws en cultuur. Vanaf acht uur start een rist gespecialiseerde muziekprogramma's. De muziekredacteurs gaan zelf op zoek naar de beste muziek. Daarmee is Scorpio de trends altijd een stapje voor. Op Scorpio hoor je alles wat op andere zenders geen plaats krijgt.
Radio maken is heel wat meer dan een liedje draaien en wat vertellen in de micro. Er komt heel wat werk bij kijken: redactie, presentatie, muziekexpertise, techniekkennis, montage. Maar ook achter de schermen gebeurt er heel wat. Er zijn werkgroepen die zich bezig houden met interne en externe communicatie, promotie, stage, subsidies, activiteiten organiseren en t-shirtverkoop.

Netwaves 3.12 explores the new 'n0theen'. From Kreislauf's Mogwai: "notheen is a new 24/7 opensource audio / netaudio stream. we started dec 1st our beta-version and will go out on jan 1st. we play only opensource audio and also netaudio under creative commons licence in 128 kbps/stereo. 50 listeners can listen to the stream in the beginning.
the project was installed by nicolas notheen from budapest, but pst he is also a well known artist from my own netlabel kreislauf. at the moment there are some regular weekly and monthly shows at notheen, like: Kreislauf.FM, n°C°...clast, Machtdose Podcast, OC-Records and others.
some shows are live, others a recorded show. for weekends we plan some dj-shows with netaudio-mix-labels and/or djs."
And guess what, these lovely guys have also programmed our very own Netwaves.

1. Release: Netwaves Bytes: Electro 1
Netwaves is proud to present its first virtual CD: Netwaves Bytes: Electro 1. This compilation is the first in a series that represent the best netlabel tunes from all over the world. Netaudio is not about profit figures, it's about creativity and independence. For the music lover, this means open, free music without lawyers.
This release gives an anthology of the best electro on the internet from the past 5 years.
Because the musicians use the Creative Commons license, people are free to download, copy and spread the music.
Download your copy here, put it on your website, podcast, blog it, ... but be sure to publish the playlist with the artists!
Check our brandnew netlabel 'Netwaves Records'
Download 'Netwaves Bytes: Electro 1'
2. From monday 6 oct. on, Netwaves will be broadcasting for 4 hours, instead of 1 hour! Netwaves begins its normal formula 1 hour later, ie. 21:00, followed by the brandnew Netwaves.bpm at 22:00. As the name already tells, this will be a more beats related casting, netlabel music revised in a mix under supervision of RuE9. At 23:00 Netwaves.bpm plays guest mixes, found on the internet. 24:00 our own Cap starts his own mish-mash of scapes, texts, wizardry found on the web, and free thanks to Creative Commons. The best stuff will be uploaded from time to time to Netwaves.bpm.
3. This same monday, Netwaves is pointed out by Radio Scorpio to start streaming tests via the internet. You can listen to the stream at this webaddress. This, again, is available thanks to all the netlabels and artists that support Creative Commons.

Last saturdaynight Jan Lagrain, the voice from Netwaves, was one of the guests on VPRO's Radio 6. In this dutch radioshow host Aad van Nieuwkerk had a long interview with Jan and Marco Raaphorst about CC and Netwaves. Aad did some research too and found some very nice netlabelstories and tunes (Did you know Triplexity? You will soon ...).
